  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
  • 950ml (4 cups) Water

Method

  1. Drain the soaked beans and set aside.
  2. Heat the oil in a pot and brown the pork on all sides.
  3. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened.
  4. Add the beans, salt, pepper, and water.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer and cook, covered, for 45 minutes to 1 hour, until the beans and pork are tender, adding water as needed.
  6. Serve as a hearty side alongside rice and a main dish.
