Introduction: A creamy conch soup from Honduras' Bay Islands, blending Garifuna and Caribbean coastal influences.

Cultural Background: A creamy conch soup from Honduras' Bay Islands, blending Garifuna and Caribbean coastal influences. Tender conch meat is simmered in coconut milk with root vegetables and plantain, and the soup is celebrated in a well-known Honduran song of the same name, cementing its status as a cultural icon as much as a dish.

Tips: Pound or tenderize the conch meat well beforehand, as it can turn rubbery if simmered too briefly or too hard.

Variations: Some coastal cooks add shrimp alongside the conch, or a spoonful of cilantro for freshness.

Storage: Refrigerate up to 2 days; the coconut broth may thicken and can be loosened with a little stock.

Reheating: Reheat gently over low heat, avoiding a hard boil which can toughen the conch.
