  • 1 kg (2.2 lb) waxy potatoes
  • 6 large eggs, hard-boiled and sliced
  • 300 g (10.5 oz) Hungarian smoked sausage, sliced
  • 300 ml (1 1/4 cups) sour cream
  • 50 g (1/3 cup) butter, melted
  • Salt, to taste

Method

  1. Boil potatoes in their skins until just tender, then cool, peel and slice.
  2. Preheat oven to 180C (350F).
  3. Layer a third of the potatoes in a buttered baking dish, then a layer of egg slices and sausage.
  4. Spoon over some sour cream and repeat layers, finishing with potatoes and sour cream on top.
  5. Drizzle with melted butter and dust with paprika.
  6. Bake 35-40 minutes until golden on top.
  7. Rest 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
