Ingredients
- 4 cups flour (500 g / 1 lb 2 oz)
- 360ml (1.5 cups) Warm water
- 2 tsp active dry yeast
- 2 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 70g (1/2 cup) Sesame seeds, for topping
Method
- Dissolve the yeast in the warm water and let sit for 10 minutes until foamy.
- Combine the flour and salt in a large bowl, then add the yeast mixture and oil.
- Mix and knead for 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled.
- Divide into portions and roll each into a flat round.
- Sprinkle generously with sesame seeds, pressing gently to adhere.
- Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F) and bake for 12–15 minutes until golden.
