Kunafa Spreader Comb
Levant (Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria)

A wide, flat tool with a slightly serrated or ridged edge used to spread and press shredded kataifi dough evenly into a pan before baking kunafa.
Material & Construction
Flat metal or heat-resistant plastic, wide enough to cover a substantial portion of the baking pan in a single pass, with a comfortable handle grip.
Traditional Uses
Pressing shredded pastry into an even, compact layer so it browns uniformly and holds together once baked and flipped.
Modern Availability / Equivalents
The back of a large flat spatula or a wide metal scraper serves the same purpose where a dedicated comb isn't available.
Care & Maintenance
Hand-wash and dry; butter and syrup residue should not be left to dry on the ridges, which can harden and become difficult to clean.
