Restaurant Review
The Morning Star Bar & Restaurant
A historic Belfast pub serving hearty, comforting food in a brilliant atmosphere.
01 The Arrival
The Morning Star is exactly what I want from an old Belfast pub. There's loads of character, dark wood, traditional booths and a beautiful old mahogany bar. It feels historic without feeling like a museum.
02 The Food
I went for a beef and Guinness pie with chips, while we shared wings and beer-battered onion rings. The pie was rich and comforting, with tender beef and a deep gravy. The chips were crisp and fluffy, and the onion rings were dangerously easy to eat.
03 The Experience
Really friendly and efficient staff, welcoming without being overly attentive. The historic interior is the star here, with traditional booths and a lively Belfast pub atmosphere.
04 Was It Worth It?
Very good. You get a proper substantial meal without the prices becoming ridiculous.
05 The Verdict
Fantastic character, great pub food, friendly service and a brilliant atmosphere, though it can get lively when the bar is busy. A brilliant choice if you want food somewhere with genuine Belfast character.
