Restaurant Review

S.D. Bell & Co.

A charming, historic coffee roaster and tea room with fantastic coffee and scones.

01 The Arrival

S.D. Bell's is completely different from the other places on this list. It feels part coffee shop, part old-fashioned emporium, and the smell of freshly roasted coffee is absolutely gorgeous.

02 The Food

I had a freshly brewed coffee, a homemade scone with jam and cream, and one of the cafe's lighter lunch options. The coffee is obviously the star here - rich, aromatic and noticeably fresher tasting than the average cafe cup. The scone was lovely too, soft inside and lightly sweet.

03 The Experience

Excellent service - friendly and knowledgeable staff, particularly when it came to the coffee and tea. The atmosphere is really charming, surrounded by tea, coffee and old-fashioned shop character.

04 Was It Worth It?

Excellent, particularly for coffee and cake.

05 The Verdict

Fantastic coffee, knowledgeable staff, unique atmosphere and great value, though this is more cafe/tea-room than full restaurant. Perfect for coffee lovers and anyone who enjoys somewhere with history and personality.
