Restaurant Review
India Gate
Warm, welcoming Indian and Nepalese cooking with generous, well-spiced curries.
01 The Arrival
India Gate has a warm, comfortable restaurant atmosphere, with the wonderful smell of spices hitting you as soon as you sit down. It feels welcoming rather than overly formal.
02 The Food
We started with onion bhajis and vegetable samosas, followed by chicken tikka masala, lamb rogan josh, pilau rice and naan. The onion bhajis were crisp and packed with flavour, the chicken tikka masala was creamy and rich without being sickly, and the lamb rogan josh had much more depth and spice.
03 The Experience
Friendly and attentive staff, happy to help with the menu. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, making it a good choice for both casual meals and evenings when you want to take your time.
04 Was It Worth It?
Excellent. The portions are generous, particularly when ordering curries with rice or naan.
05 The Verdict
Excellent curries, generous portions, great naan and good value, though the extensive menu can make deciding take a while. A great option for anyone who loves a proper curry with plenty of choice.
