Restaurant Review

Constantinople Restaurant

A cosy Turkish and Mediterranean spot worth returning to for the lamb shish and mezze.

01 The Arrival

Constantinople has a lovely warm, welcoming feel from the moment you walk in, with plenty of Turkish and Mediterranean character and a really cosy atmosphere that makes it feel like somewhere to happily settle in for a long dinner.

02 The Food

We went for a selection of hummus, baba ganoush and mixed mezze, followed by lamb shish and chicken shish, warm Turkish bread, baklava and Turkish coffee. The mezze had lovely varied flavours and textures, the hummus was creamy and the baba ganoush had a smoky note. The lamb shish was the standout - tender, juicy and nicely charred - and the chicken was equally well seasoned.

03 The Experience

Service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive, with staff happy to explain dishes. The atmosphere is warm, cosy and quite romantic, particularly good for a relaxed evening meal.

04 Was It Worth It?

Very good value - the portions are generous and sharing several mezze makes the meal feel particularly worthwhile.

05 The Verdict

Excellent grilled meat, generous portions and a lovely cosy atmosphere, though the tempting menu makes deciding what to order genuinely difficult. Ideal for anyone who loves Turkish and Mediterranean food, particularly grilled meat and mezze.
