Restaurant Review
Casablanca Kitchen
One of the best spots in Roath for proper, soul-warming Moroccan cooking.
01 The Arrival
Tucked away on bustling Albany Road in Roath, Casablanca welcomes you with warm riad-style charm that instantly transports you straight to North Africa without feeling gimmicky.
02 The Food
We had slow-cooked lamb tagine, aromatic kabseh rice and freshly baked Moroccan batbout bread. The tagine was fall-apart tender, steeped in a fragrant blend of spices, sweet fruit and savoury juices - every mouthful felt lovingly and authentically prepared.
03 The Experience
Incredibly warm, family-run hospitality that makes you feel like an honoured guest in someone's home, with genuine, friendly and efficient service. The atmosphere is intimate, cosy and deeply relaxing, with soft lighting and traditional Moroccan decor.
04 Was It Worth It?
Brilliant value - the portions are substantial and packed with rich, complex flavours that cost far less than the dining experience implies.
05 The Verdict
Exceptionally authentic slow-cooked dishes, a cosy atmosphere and a lovely family-run vibe - the only downside is limited seating means peak dinner hours fill up fast. Lovers of hearty, aromatic international comfort food will fall completely in love with this place.
