Warmed Spiced Apple & Whiskey Mulled Cider

Ingredients

  • 1 Litre high-quality cloud apple juice or flat cider
  • 1 orange, sliced
  • 1 cinnamon stick, 4 cloves, 1 strip fresh ginger
  • 100ml smooth Irish whiskey
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar (optional)

Method

  1. Pour the cloud apple juice or cider into a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add the orange slices, cinnamon stick, whole cloves, ginger, and sugar if using.
  3. Bring to a bare simmer, then turn the heat to low and cover. Let it mull gently for 15 minutes without boiling.
  4. Remove from heat, stir in the Irish whiskey, strain out the spices, and ladle into warm heatproof mugs.

An exceptional autumn and winter crowd-pleaser. Locally pressed apple cider is mulled with rich spices and spiked with a bold shot of Irish whiskey.
