Warmed Spiced Apple & Whiskey Mulled Cider

Ingredients
- 1 Litre high-quality cloud apple juice or flat cider
- 1 orange, sliced
- 1 cinnamon stick, 4 cloves, 1 strip fresh ginger
- 100ml smooth Irish whiskey
- 1 tbsp brown sugar (optional)
Method
- Pour the cloud apple juice or cider into a medium saucepan over medium heat.
- Add the orange slices, cinnamon stick, whole cloves, ginger, and sugar if using.
- Bring to a bare simmer, then turn the heat to low and cover. Let it mull gently for 15 minutes without boiling.
- Remove from heat, stir in the Irish whiskey, strain out the spices, and ladle into warm heatproof mugs.
