Description: An elegant equal-ish parts classic balancing cognac against orange liqueur and fresh lemon, one of the great pre-Prohibition sours.
Cultural Background: Created around World War I, with competing claims from bars in both Paris and London; the name reportedly comes from a patron who arrived by motorcycle sidecar.
Tips: Cointreau specifically, not a generic triple sec, gives the cleanest, most balanced result.
Variations: Skip the sugar rim for a drier, less sweet presentation.
Serving Suggestion: Serve up, well chilled, as an elegant pre- or post-dinner classic.
Nutrition: Approx. 175 kcal per serving
