Introduction: A smooth, lightly spiced pumpkin soup, a comforting starter or light meal reflecting Namibia's farming heritage.

Cultural Background: Pumpkin grows well across much of Namibia's farming regions, and this simple, creamy soup is a common way households turn the harvest into a warming dish, especially popular in the cooler winter months.

Tips: Cut the pumpkin into even pieces so it cooks through at the same rate. Blend thoroughly for the smoothest, creamiest texture.

Variations: Add a swirl of extra cream on top before serving for a decorative finish. Include a diced carrot along with the pumpkin for extra sweetness.

Storage: Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

Reheating: Reheat gently on the stovetop over low heat, stirring, until warmed through.

FAQs:

Q: Can I use butternut squash instead of pumpkin?

A: Yes, butternut squash works very well as a substitute.

Q: Is this soup very rich?

A: It has a moderate richness from the cream and butter, balanced by the pumpkin's natural sweetness.
