Ingredients

  • 45 ml (3 tbsp) Irish whiskey
  • 150 ml (2/3 cup) boiling water
  • 1 tbsp honey or sugar
  • 1 slice lemon
  • 3 whole cloves
  • 1 cinnamon stick (optional)

Method

  1. Warm a heatproof glass with a little hot water, then discard the water.
  2. Stud the lemon slice with the whole cloves and place it in the glass.
  3. Add the whiskey and honey or sugar.
  4. Top with boiling water and stir gently until the honey or sugar dissolves.
  5. Add a cinnamon stick if using.
  6. Serve immediately while hot.
