Description: A short, frothy gin sour topped with soda, traditionally served without ice for maximum fizz.
Cultural Background: A 19th-century American bar staple, with countless regional variants — the Ramos Gin Fizz being the most famous elaboration.
Tips: Shake hard and long to build real froth before straining.
Variations: Add an egg white for a silkier, foamier texture.

FAQs:
Q: Why no ice in the glass?
A: Tradition holds the Fizz should be drunk quickly while fully carbonated, so ice (which dilutes and slows drinking) is skipped.
