- 1 litre (4 cups) water, divided
- 100 g (1/2 cup) sugar, or to taste

Method
- Place the baobab powder in a bowl and pour over half the water; whisk well and let stand for 15 minutes.
- Strain through a fine sieve or cheesecloth, pressing to extract as much liquid as possible, discarding any fibrous residue.
- Stir in the remaining water, sugar and vanilla extract, adjusting sweetness to taste.
- Chill thoroughly before serving over ice.
