Ingredients
- 300 g (10 oz) small shrimp, peeled and roughly chopped
- 150 g (1 1/4 cups) flour
- 1 egg
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp chopped parsley
- 1/2 tsp chile powder
- 120 ml (1/2 cup) water
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Vegetable oil, for frying
Method
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, egg, baking powder, and water until a smooth batter forms.
- Fold in the shrimp, onion, garlic, parsley, chile powder, salt, and pepper.
- Heat about 2 cm (3/4 in) of oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Drop tablespoons of the batter into the hot oil and fry for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.
- Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
