Limoncello
Southern Italy (Amalfi Coast, Sicily)

An Italian lemon liqueur, traditionally made by macerating lemon zest (specifically the zest, not the juice, which would add unwanted acidity and cloudiness) in high-proof spirit, then sweetening with sugar syrup; a Southern Italian specialty, and one of the most popular liqueurs for home producers to make themselves.
Profile
Bright, lemon zest character, sweet.
Limoncello, well-chilled, after an Italian meal is a reliable classic.
