Barrel-Aged & Wood-Aged Beer
Largely American-driven, with older roots in traditional Belgian and English brewing

Aging beer (usually a strong base style like imperial stout or barleywine) in used spirit barrels — most commonly bourbon, but also rum, wine, or sherry casks — imparts wood tannin, vanilla, caramel, and residual spirit character.
