Ingredients
- - 2 oz gin
- - 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
- - 1/2 oz fresh lime juice
- - 3/4 oz simple syrup
- - 1 oz cream
- - 1 egg white
- - 3 drops orange flower water
- - Soda water, to top
Method
- Dry-shake all ingredients except soda (no ice) for a full minute — this drink needs an unusually long shake.
- Add ice and shake hard for another minute.
- Strain into a chilled glass and top gently with soda water.
Description: A luxuriously rich, long-shaken gin fizz with cream, egg white, and orange flower water.
Garnish: None traditionally required
Note: Invented in 1888 New Orleans; the notoriously long shake time was once handled by relay teams of 'shaker boys' at Ramos's original bar.
