Ingredients

Method
- Preheat oven to 170°C (340°F) and line cake tins.
- Whisk egg whites to stiff peaks, then gradually whisk in sugar and yolks.
- Fold in ground walnuts and breadcrumbs gently.
- Divide batter between tins and bake 20-25 minutes until set. Cool completely.
- For the buttercream, melt chocolate with milk over a double boiler, then cool slightly and beat into softened butter and sugar until smooth.
- Layer the cooled sponges with buttercream between each layer and over the top and sides.
- Chill for at least 2 hours before slicing.
