Ingredients

Method
- Drain the soaked chickpeas and set aside.
- Heat oil in a large pot and sauté the onion until soft.
- Stir in tomato paste and turmeric and cook for 1 minute.
- Add the chickpeas, water or stock, and salt.
- Bring to a boil, then simmer covered for 50-60 minutes until the chickpeas are tender.
