Flahavan’s Oat Honey Flapjacks

Ingredients

  • 150g Flahavan's porridge oats (or standard rolled oats)
  • 75g Irish butter
  • 50g brown sugar
  • 2 large tbsp golden syrup or Irish honey
  • A pinch of salt

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C fan) and line a small square baking tin with parchment.
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter, brown sugar, and golden syrup together until fully liquid and combined.
  3. Stir in the porridge oats and a tiny pinch of salt until all the oats are completely coated in the buttery syrup.
  4. Press the mixture firmly and flatly into the baking tin.
  5. Bake for 15 minutes until the edges are golden but the center is still slightly soft. Allow to cool for 10 minutes, then score into squares while warm. Let cool completely to harden.
