Air-Fryer Tayto Crisp Sandwich Upgrade

Ingredients

  • 2 slices of soft white sliced pan (bread)
  • 20g salted Irish butter (don't skimp!)
  • 1 bag (37g) Tayto Cheese & Onion crisps (or King crisps)

Method

  1. Generously butter both slices of white bread right to the edges.
  2. Empty the entire bag of Cheese & Onion crisps onto one slice of bread.
  3. Top with the second slice of bread and press down firmly until you hear the satisfying 'crunch' of the crisps crushing slightly.
  4. Optional Upgrade: Place the whole sandwich in an air fryer at 180°C for 1.5 - 2 minutes just until the bread gets a slight outer crisp and the butter inside melts into the crisps. Cut diagonally and serve.

The legendary Irish crisp sandwich gets a warm, decadent upgrade. Thick white bread, a mountain of salted butter, and classic Cheese & Onion Tayto crisps, toasted briefly to melt the butter.
