Spiced Barry’s Tea Hot Punch

Ingredients

  • 3 Barry's Gold Blend tea bags (or Lyons)
  • 750ml boiling water
  • 1 cinnamon stick, 2 star anise
  • 1 orange, sliced into rounds
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 150ml Irish whiskey

Method

  1. Steep the tea bags in the boiling water for 5 minutes in a saucepan, then remove and discard the tea bags.
  2. Add the cinnamon stick, star anise, orange slices, and brown sugar to the hot tea.
  3. Simmer over low heat for 10 minutes to allow the spices to infuse thoroughly.
  4. Turn off the heat and stir in the Irish whiskey. Ladle warm into mugs, ensuring an orange slice makes it into each serving.
