Middle East
Dallah
Arabian Gulf (Saudi Arabia, UAE, and neighboring states)

A long-spouted, often ornately decorated metal coffee pot used to brew and serve Arabic coffee (qahwa), central to Gulf hospitality traditions.
Material & Construction
Traditionally brass or copper, sometimes silver-plated for ceremonial or display versions; the long, curved spout allows precise pouring into small cups.
Traditional Uses
Brewing and serving lightly roasted, cardamom-spiced Arabic coffee, typically poured in small amounts and refilled repeatedly as a gesture of hospitality.
Modern Availability / Equivalents
Widely available through Gulf and broader Middle Eastern specialty retailers, both as functional brewing vessels and as decorative items; no close Western equivalent given the vessel's specific ceremonial pouring role.
Care & Maintenance
Hand wash and dry thoroughly; polish metal exteriors periodically if displayed decoratively.
The Ethiopian jebena is a related but independently distinct regional coffee vessel tradition, not a direct variant.
