Description: A pink, gin-based sour that leans on a smaller measure of Campari for bittersweet depth rather than as the dominant flavor.
Cultural Background: Created by bartender Paul Harrington in the San Francisco Bay Area in the early 1990s, now considered a modern classic.
Tips: The smaller Campari measure here (compared to a Negroni-style drink) means the gin still leads.
Variations: A dash of orange bitters can add extra aromatic complexity.
Serving Suggestion: Serve up, well chilled, as a bright, bittersweet modern classic.
Nutrition: Approx. 160 kcal per serving
FAQs:
Q: Is this very bitter, like a Negroni?
A: Less so — the smaller Campari measure keeps this drink brighter and more citrus-forward than a true Negroni-style cocktail.
