Description: A drier, more bracing Daiquiri variant with grapefruit and maraschino liqueur, said to be Ernest Hemingway's personal preference.

Cultural Background: Named for the American author, a longtime regular at Havana's El Floridita bar, who reportedly preferred his Daiquiris without added sugar due to diabetes.

Tips: No added sugar is traditional here — the maraschino liqueur supplies the sweetness instead.

Variations: Also known as a "Papa Doble," using Hemingway's nickname.

Serving Suggestion: Serve up, ice cold, as a drier, more grown-up Daiquiri.

Nutrition: Approx. 165 kcal per serving

FAQs:

Q: Why no sugar?
A: Hemingway reportedly avoided sugar for health reasons, so the bar built a Daiquiri around grapefruit and maraschino instead.
