Introduction: Crisp, deep-fried pastries filled with seasoned minced meat, a beloved and iconic Russian street food snack.
Cultural Background: Chebureki reflect Russia's Crimean Tatar culinary influence, their thin, crispy fried pastry enclosing a juicy meat filling making them a popular street food and casual meal found across the country.
Tips: Seal the edges very firmly, as the juicy filling can leak out during frying if not properly enclosed. Roll the dough thin for the classic crisp, blistered texture.
Variations: Add a little chopped fresh herbs to the filling for extra flavour. Serve with a side of sour cream or a simple salad.
Storage: Refrigerate cooked chebureki in an airtight container for up to 1 day.
Reheating: Reheat in an oven at 190°C (375°F) for 8–10 minutes to restore crispness.
