Introduction: Crisp, spiced fried fish, a popular street food found at coastal markets and stalls across Qatar.

Cultural Background: With fresh fish so readily available, frying it simply with a light spice coating is one of the most common and beloved ways Qataris enjoy their Gulf catch as a quick street food snack.

Tips: Pat the fish dry before coating in flour for the crispest result. Fry in small batches to keep the oil temperature steady.

Variations: Serve with a simple tamarind or chilli dipping sauce. Adjust the chilli powder to taste for more or less heat.

Storage: Best eaten fresh; leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 1 day.

Reheating: Reheat in an oven at 200°C (400°F) for 8–10 minutes to restore crispness.
