Ingredients
- 250 g (2 cups) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
- 1/4 small onion, finely minced
- 180 ml (3/4 cup) water
- Vegetable oil, for deep frying
Method
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper.
- Stir in the garlic, parsley, and onion.
- Gradually add the water, mixing until a thick, scoopable batter forms; do not overmix.
- Heat about 5 cm (2 inches) of oil in a deep pan to 175°C (350°F).
- Drop tablespoon-sized portions of batter into the hot oil, frying in batches of 5-6 pieces.
- Fry 3-4 minutes, turning occasionally, until deep golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Serve warm with pikliz.
