Shops & Street Food Review

Malay Kitchen

Malay Kitchen is food-first and proper Malaysian rather than generic "Asian fusion" - founded by Malaysian chefs Elle and Norza, cooking recipes passed down through their families. The Nasi Goreng was packed with savoury, smoky flavour, while the laksa was the real star: rich, aromatic and fresh-tasting rather than salty. Substantial portions and quality ingredients make the prices feel fair.

Best Thing About It

The laksa - rich, aromatic and wonderfully warming without being just about chilli.

Could Be Better

Interior is casual and compact rather than fancy, though the food more than makes up for it.
