First Impressions

W5 is colourful, modern and immediately energetic - you can hear children experimenting and playing before you've even made it very far inside. This is absolutely somewhere where you're expected to touch things rather than stand behind a rope.

The Scenery

Scenery isn't really the point here - the attraction is the interactive environment.

What You'll See

Interactive science exhibits, climbing structures, experiments, technology displays, multi-sensory activities and children's play areas.

Best Photo Opportunities

The big interactive installations, Climbit and the colourful exhibition areas.

Seasonal Appeal

It's particularly useful on rainy Belfast days because you can spend several hours indoors.

Sounds & Surroundings

Expect plenty of noise, excited children and interactive exhibits. W5 also runs quieter sessions periodically with reduced admission numbers and lower exhibit volumes.

Getting There

Well connected to the city centre, with parking available at The O2 Belfast.

Would I Visit Again?

Yes, particularly with children. There is enough interactive material that a second visit wouldn't feel identical.

Final Verdict

W5 is a worthwhile destination because it manages to make science genuinely fun rather than turning it into a traditional museum experience.
