Shops & Street Food Review
Sawers
Sawers is one of those places where I could happily spend far too much money without noticing - part deli, part food shop, part lunch stop, with shelves packed with cheeses, meats, sauces and chocolates. The Belfast Alligator was seriously good, and as a Belfast institution dating back to 1897 it feels particularly representative of the city's food culture. I want to work my way through the entire sandwich menu.
Best Thing About It
The Belfast Alligator - rich, tender beef, savoury cheddar and just enough chipotle heat, all held together by substantial ciabatta.
Could Be Better
Slightly more expensive than an ordinary sandwich shop, though the ingredients justify it.
