Darcy’s Belfast

01 The Arrival

Darcy's has such a lovely old-fashioned Belfast feel to it. It's cosy and characterful, with traditional decor that makes it feel much more like a neighbourhood restaurant than somewhere right in the city centre. I immediately liked the warm, welcoming atmosphere.

02 The Food

We started with soup of the day and chicken liver pate, followed by chicken and ham pie and Irish beef with chips and vegetables, finishing with a sticky toffee pudding. The food is exactly the sort of comforting Irish cooking I love - the pie was rich and filling with lovely pastry and tender meat, while the beef was beautifully cooked and full of flavour.

03 The Experience

The service was friendly and relaxed, feeling genuinely welcoming rather than overly polished. The atmosphere is cosy, intimate and full of character, particularly nice in the evening when the lighting makes the restaurant feel even more snug.

04 Was It Worth It?

Very good. Portions are generous and the food feels homemade rather than mass-produced.

05 The Verdict

Lovely atmosphere, comforting Irish food, generous portions and friendly service, though the cosy interior can feel quite intimate when busy. Darcy's is ideal for anyone wanting traditional Belfast food in a relaxed, independent setting.
