Restaurant Review

Ephesus Brighton

The mixed grill and mezze combination is a winner worth returning for.

01 The Arrival

Ephesus has a really welcoming Turkish feel, with a lively atmosphere and the smell of grilled food from the kitchen making a huge mixed grill and a table full of mezze instantly appealing.

02 The Food

Hummus, stuffed vine leaves, grilled halloumi and warm bread to start, then a mixed grill of lamb shish, chicken shish and Adana kofte. The Adana was spicy and smoky, the lamb shish tender and the chicken nicely charred, with fresh, generous mezze.

03 The Experience

Service was friendly, efficient and welcoming, giving the meal a relaxed, family-style feel. Lively and comfortable, with plenty of conversation and the smell of charcoal cooking.

04 Was It Worth It?

Excellent value - generous portions, and the mixed-grill dishes make for a particularly satisfying meal.

05 The Verdict

Excellent grilled meats, generous portions and great mezze, though it can get lively and busy at peak times. Exactly the sort of Turkish restaurant to recommend when hungry and wanting a proper feast.
