Restaurant Review
Oscar’s Seafood Bistro
Intimate, seafood-focused bistro in the West End that takes its ingredients seriously.
01 The Arrival
Cosy and intimate rather than a big flashy seafood hall, with an elegant-but-unstuffy feel and a genuine connection to Galway's West End.
02 The Food
Oysters and scallops to start, then the fish of the day, finished with a trio of crème brûlée — the kitchen lets the seafood speak for itself rather than burying it under extras, and everything tasted fresh and clean.
03 The Experience
Staff clearly know the menu inside out and are happy to talk you through the dishes, which makes a big difference in a seafood-focused spot.
04 Was It Worth It?
A treat rather than an everyday meal, but the quality of the seafood makes the price feel fair.
05 The Verdict
Amazing seafood, knowledgeable staff and an intimate atmosphere — reservations are a must, but this is one of the first places worth recommending to any seafood lover visiting Galway.
Location — Clan House, 22/23 Dominick Street Upper, Galway, H91 VX03, Ireland
