First Impressions

Insole Court feels like a hidden little pocket of Victorian Cardiff - an impressive mansion, green gardens, historic interiors and quiet residential surroundings. I was surprised by how peaceful it was; it doesn't have the same touristy feeling as Cardiff's biggest attractions.

The Scenery

The Grade II* listed mansion has around 160 years of history and was extensively refurbished before reopening as a community-run attraction.

What You'll See

A Victorian mansion, historic rooms, gardens, decorative architecture, mature trees and event spaces.

Spring and summer are ideal for the gardens - autumn gives the grounds a particularly cosy feel.

Sounds & Surroundings

Mostly quiet, with birds and people chatting in the gardens.

Getting There

Buses serve the Llandaff area, with parking available nearby.

Would I Visit Again?

Yes - it's a really pleasant place to spend a couple of quiet hours.
